Welcome to Online Poker - Unforgettable Cards
Caribbean Stud Poker is an online casino game that is a mix of blackjack and poker. Like in blackjack the player's hand is compare to the dealer's hand with the higher-ranking hand winning. The hierarchy of hand ranking is the same as in poker.

Most online casinos offer Caribbean Stud Poker. It is classified under Table Games or Card Games or Specialty Games. The player should locate the game and open it. First the player should transfer adequate credits from his online casino account. The player has then to place the ante bet. The chips are usually in the denomination of 1, 5, 25, 100 and 500 credits. The player clicks on the chips of his choice and then clicks on the area marked "ante" to transfer the chips. The player's balance gets appropriately reduced. The player then clicks on the "deal" button and five cards are dealt to the player and one to the dealer all face up. The player then decides whether he wants to play ahead or give up. In most online casinos the player's hand gets automatically rearranged to emphasize the poker hand ranking and a text message also indicates the ranking for the convenience of the player. If the player wants to concede then he clicks on the "fold" button and the table is cleared for the next wager. If the player wants to continue with the game then he clicks on the "raise" button. A bet equal to the ante bet is automatically transferred to the area on the screen marked "bet" and the player's account appropriately reduced. Simultaneously the remaining four cards are dealt to the dealer, the hands compared and payouts made. Online casinos usually display a text message indicating the dealer's hand ranking. Once the payout is made the player's balance increases by the appropriate amount if he has won.

In Caribbean Stud poker online casinos also offer a side bet with a jackpot. In order to be eligible for the jackpot the player clicks on the area designated as "side bet". A chip of unit credit is transferred from the player's stack and his balance appropriately reduced. He has to place the side bet before the cards are dealt. The jackpot bonuses are indicated on the screen. Most online casinos offer 2,500 credits for a straight flush and 25,000 credits for a royal flush. Some online casinos offer a progressive jackpot, in which case the current amount is displayed on the ticker.

After the hand is completed the player can click on the "rebet" button in order to play the next hand with the same bet or on the "double" button in order to play the next hand with a doubled wager. Alternatively he can place the wager as indicated earlier.

n this article we are going to look at two different strategies. It is up to you to decide if they will work for you. Caribbean Stud Poker is based on a game with a high house edge in which you play against the dealer, and not other players at the table. It is a game of chance. In other words you can't predict what card will pop out of the shoe next, unless you are skilled in card counting and have others working with you at the table.

The first strategy states you should fold if you have less and Ace or King high. This means that your highest ranking card must be either of those two. This follows the logic of our first topic in a previous article about raising when you have any pair or higher. The statement is if you have a pair you should raise as you have a potential winning hand. With the addendum that you should fold if you have less than a king or ace in that hand, even with a pair restricts the play even further. Let's take a look at an example.

You have been dealt an ace, ten, three, and two fours. The up card showing on the dealer hand is a king. Now you know a couple of things. First you have a potential winning hand that pays out even money. You also know you can't exchange any cards. The ace is the highest card in the deck that you can have. So if the dealer had a pair of fours like you your hand would be the winner. This is because the high card that you have as opposed to the king. We are going on the assumption that they don't have an ace hidden. On the other hand that king could be the key to a royal flush, so what do you do? You will place the raise. First because you have an ace or king high, second because you have a pair.

Our next strategy doesn't deal with the cards, but a side bet you can place. In Caribbean Stud Poker you can play a progressive game. This is where you place a side bet for a jackpot that continues to increase over time. In this strategy you will never place the progressive bet if the jackpot is small. The only reason to bet on the side is if the jackpot is worth winning. To my way of thinking since the jackpot bet is a side bet and the house edge for the bet is even higher than the house edge for the poker round you don't want to place the bet. You are better off playing a straight betting game for the Caribbean Stud.

In Caribbean stud poker you are better off to let your cards do the talking. Otherwise you are going to be in a bit of a bind later on, when you could have won or when you place a high bet and lose.
